The Mandate, duties and responsibilities of Agency for Gender Equality are ascertained in a law No. 05/L-020 for Gender Equality.

The Agency for Gender Equality is a important Body for functioning of democratic institutions.

It has mandate to draft, execute, and propose, to coordinate and monitor domestic and international public policies for Gender Equality.

The Agency is responsible to promote, protect and advance equal participation of men and women in all areas of political, economic, social ,\ and cultural life in Kosovo
