The Agency for Gender Equality marks 16 Days of Activism against violence with two important events
In the scope of 16 Days of Activism against Violence, the Agency for Gender Equality has marked two events, one symbolic and the other informative event by stressing the importance of common action to fight domestic violence and violence towards women. The activities were focused on raising the awareness and support of gender based violence.
The first event was enlighten the government building with white tape as a symbol to mark the engagement to fight gender based violence and to promote peace, equality and respect for women and girls rights. The white ribbon is a international symbol of the campaign against violence towards women and it is a symbol of solidarity with victims of violence. The enlighten of the building with while ribbon and orange color is an appeal to make awareness of the public and to show engagement of the state in creating a save and right society for women and girls.
Except this symbolic act, the Agency for Gender Equality also has launched the Video-spot “ The Role of local Coordination Mechanism for protection against domestic violence, violence towards women and gender based violence which addresses the role of local coordination mechanism for protection of victims of violence. The Video spot stresses the inter-institutional cooperation and the importance of coordination between state institutions and civil society to offer protection and support for the victims of domestic violence and violence towards women.
