The Agency for Gender Equality through its representative is participating in the conference organized by KFOR in Thessaloniki in occasion of 25 Years of Resolution 1325

The Agency for Gender Equality through its representatives- Edi Gusia, the Director of AGE, Leonora Selmani- Chief Legislation Department and Adelina Kajtazi- Chief Cooperation Department- they are attending and have presented in conference organized by KFOR in occasion of marking 25 Yeas of approval of Resolution 1325 of Security Council of UN “Women, Peace and Security” which is organized in Thessaloniki, Greece.

During the Conference it was stressed the commitment of Institutions of Republic of Kosovo in execution fg the important resolution. Kosovo is among countries that has developed a special and effective  approach in execution of resolution 1325, by achieving concrete and measured results. This resolution is integrated as a special pole with the Kosovo Program for Gender Equality 2020-2024. The Assessment of execution of this program show that has overcome the planed budget by the Government of Kosovo in financing the activities which are linked with this agenda.  

The Success of Kosovo in execution of resolution 1325 is supported mainly in political will and in close interinstitutional  cooperation with special accent  in the role of women’s organizations and civil society that are acting in the field of peace, security and gender equality. This experience will serve as a model also for other countries in the region and beyond, 

The Agency for Gender Equality remains committed that in close cooperation with domestic and international partners to continue to advance the gender equality and empowering of women in peaceful and decision making processes.
